From saying "on the way" even though we're still at home to how we mix multiple languages in one sentence, there are all kinds of sayings and habits that are familiar to us Malaysians, kan? ;)

It is exactly these kinds of unique Malaysian traits that TikTok is celebrating in their Hari Kebangsaan video, hehe!

Check it out below:

Featuring 23 TikTok creators who came together to create this masterpiece, the fun and vibrant video sees the creators taking turns to rap about iconic Malaysian things.

Titled #IniStyleKita, it includes mentions of things we can all relate to, such as being spoilt for choice and not knowing what to order at a mamak, buying snacks from the roti man, the power of 'the hand', our undying love for durian, and so much more.

Did you spot the special cameo appearance from a Malaysian legend? The one and only Datuk Wira Lee Chong Wei, you know, fuyohhhh!

In one of the scenes he can be seen, what else, playing badminton lah! But instead of his usual games on courts all around the world, this time, he's playing in a way that's familiar to all of us — over a house pagar. Omg, the memories of playing like that, man!

Though, unlike us noobs, Lee Chong Wei is so pro that he can effortlessly play against his opponent while SITTING DOWN and doing a TikTok LIVE. All hail his skills! And of course, he claims victory with one of his signature smashes. Power lah!

Psst... how many of y'all had that colouful chair he was sitting on? It used to be such a staple in Malaysian households, especially at our grandparents' houses, hehe.

Oh yeah, did y'all know that Lee Chong Wei actually has his own TikTok account? He posts all kinds of videos, from ones that are badminton related to random ones of him cooking or spending time with his family. Make sure to follow him!

Throughout the video, you'll also be able to see your favourite local TikTok creators, such as @mistashaque and @adamizzy, who actually wrote their rap parts themselves, wahhhh!

For their respective mamak rap and durian rap parts, the lyrics, which are soooo relatable to all Malaysians, were completely their own creations. So cool lah! The mamak rap highlights the variety of delicious food we have, while the durian rap funnily points out many different ways Malaysians eat our beloved durian.

Besides them, you can also see the following TikTok creators in the video:

Sofyank: Known for his cool VFX videos, one of which even caught the attention of Ryan Reynolds, who retweeted it

GiGi: Famous for her fashion transitions, she went viral because she was seen filming a TikTok video in the background of a Buletin Utama TV3 news report

Isaac Voo: Hailing from Sabah, he is Malaysia's very first actual K-pop idol, formerly of the group IN2IT

And there are plenty more other than them, so make sure to keep your eyes peeled to spot your fave TikTok creators!

We gotta say, our favourite scene has to be the "on the way" sequence, which showcases a bunch of people using the typical Malaysian excuse in various settings

Despite sitting on the sofa at home scrolling TikTok, brushing teeth, or being in the middle of a date, everyone answers with "on the way", hahahahaha. It's funny 'cause it's true — you confirm have done this before, right? Dun tipu! :P

All in all, TikTok's #IniStyleKita video is not only super entertaining, but also perfectly captures the everyday things that make us Malaysian at heart

Though we're all different and special in our own ways, there are some things that we all have in common that unite us as Malaysians. Like it says in the video, "it's our many patterns that make us one kind". ;)

And what better time than Hari Kebangsaan to celebrate our Malaysianness? All this month, join the #IniStyleKita challenge on TikTok by posting videos that showcase your Malaysianness in a fun and entertaining way.
